Granite Grille At The Quarry

Overview

Granite Grille At The Quarry sits right on the water at Sandstone Drive, 5650 Quarry Lake Dr, Canton, OH 44730, United States, and the first thing that hits you isn’t the menu-it’s the setting. I’ve eaten here a handful of times, once after a long workday and another during a laid-back weekend brunch, and both visits felt different yet consistently solid. The dining room opens toward the lake, and when the weather cooperates, the patio becomes the star of the show. There’s something about watching the water while waiting on food that instantly slows the pace.

The menu leans into American comfort food with a modern polish. Think burgers, steaks, seafood, and sandwiches that feel familiar but not lazy. On my most recent visit, I ordered the walleye, which is a regional favorite in Ohio, and it arrived flaky, well-seasoned, and cooked exactly right. A server mentioned that the kitchen focuses on house-made sauces and dressings, which tracks with what I tasted. That extra step shows up in small ways, like a burger that doesn’t need extra condiments or fries that stay crisp longer than expected.

One thing worth noting is how consistent the kitchen is during busy hours. According to National Restaurant Association data, peak dining times are when most quality complaints happen, yet my experience here during a packed Friday night was smooth. Food arrived within a reasonable timeframe, and nothing felt rushed or sloppy. That kind of consistency usually comes from strong back-of-house systems and staff training, something many successful mid-scale restaurants emphasize to keep reviews positive and repeat guests coming back.

Service plays a big role in the overall vibe. The staff strikes a balance between attentive and relaxed, which fits the setting perfectly. During one visit, our server walked us through the daily specials and explained how certain dishes are prepped, breaking down ingredients without sounding rehearsed. That level of clarity builds trust, especially for diners with dietary preferences or allergies. The CDC regularly stresses the importance of transparent food handling practices, and while most guests don’t think about it directly, that confidence matters.

Reviews from locals often mention the versatility of the space, and that’s accurate. It works just as well for date night as it does for family dinners or small celebrations. I’ve seen birthday groups tucked into larger tables while couples sat along the windows enjoying the lake-view atmosphere. The noise level stays manageable, even when the dining room fills up, which isn’t always easy in open layouts.

Pricing lands where you’d expect for a waterfront restaurant with full service. Portions are generous enough to justify the cost, and sharing plates is easy if you want to sample more of the menu. While I haven’t tried everything, the consistency across visits suggests a well-managed operation rather than a few standout dishes carrying the reputation.

One limitation worth mentioning is that patio seating depends heavily on the weather, and during peak summer evenings, wait times can stretch. That said, the host staff is upfront about timing, which I appreciate. Overall, this spot feels like a place that understands its audience-locals looking for reliable food, a comfortable setting, and an experience that feels easy without being forgettable.

Love going to the Quarry Granite Grill. Nothing beats this beautiful view and amazing food. Particularly love when they have great specials for food and drinks, as well as live music! The golf course is amazing and so is the restaurant. Tonight we had the best service from Deana! But honestly, we get great service every time we’re here. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should stop in.

Selena and Lizzy were great. Selena waited on our table and Lizzy was the bartender making amazing drinks. Food was delicious and service was outstanding. 10/10 would take my family again.

The Granite Grille is located inside the beautiful Quarry Golf Club, a few miles east of Waco. The course is partially surrounded by an equally beautiful HOA of homes. The club house / event center is large, modern, and tastefully executed. Within the clubhouse is the must-visit Granite Grille. The grille has indoor seating of course, but also has a wonderful, partially-enclosed patio dining area complete with a full bar, outside tables, and great view of the course. The white russian and the brandy Alexander were both the best in the area. The food menu is simple yet complete. Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared and presented in a top-notch manor. The food, in short - was wonderful and the facility as a whole is very classy. A few miles southeast of Canton, and totally worth leaving the cramped, bustle of "the city". Check the online menu and come dine in the fresh, clean air served by an outstanding, friendly staff in rural, Ohio.
